Over the past few months, Judely, an important member of our MERO family has been fighting stage four cancer in multiple organs. Throughout this difficult time, Judely and her parents have remained incredibly positive and hopeful despite the odds. Tyler and I have been constantly inspired by Judely's determination, sense of humor, and unwavering faith that she will be healed.
When Judely was first diagnosed, she called me right away concerned about how her time in the hospital might affect her classes. Despite being so sick, she was and still is determined to graduate from Menlo-Atherton High School this June. During her months at Lucille Packard Children's Hospital Judely has been working on improving her English by talking to her doctors and nurses, and has been enjoying drawing and painting. Everyone in the hospital knows Judely and her endless positivity and quick sense of humor! A GoFund Me page has been made to help support Judely and her family during this difficult time. Please share this page if you are able to, and also know that any little bit you can spare will go directly to supporting this deserving family during their most difficult moment. Thank you. www.gofundme.com/f/M-A-senior-judely-escobar

About usWelcome to El Mero Mero, the official blog of Menlo-Atherton Ecology Research Outdoors (MERO). Founded in 2017, MERO is a free, after-school environmental education program for high school English Language Learners that gets students outside doing ecology. El Mero Mero is Spanish for "the best" or "legit", which is exactly the kind of science we do in the MERO program! Archives
